A Virtual Approach to Resolving Trauma and Unlocking Performance

In riding, it’s not just about skill—it’s about your nervous system.

A fall, a scare, or even repeated subtle stress can leave a lasting imprint in the body. You may notice hesitation, tension, loss of confidence, or a feeling that something is “off”—even when you know what to do.

This isn’t a mindset issue.

It’s a nervous system response.

What is DBR?

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is an advanced, brain-based therapy that works with the deep orienting circuits of the nervous system—the part of you that instinctively responds to shock, impact, and perceived threat.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, DBR goes beneath thoughts and behaviors to address the root of trauma before it fully registers as emotion.

This allows for:

  • Resolution of trauma at its origin
  • Release of deeply held tension and protective patterns
  • A return to a more regulated, grounded state

Why It Matters for Riders

Riders often carry trauma in ways that aren’t always obvious:

  • Fear after a fall (even years later)
  • Bracing, gripping, or holding in the body
  • Loss of trust in your horse or yourself
  • Inconsistent performance despite strong skills
  • A sense of hesitation or “pulling back”

These patterns live in the nervous system—not in your willpower.

DBR helps clear what your body is still holding onto so you can ride with presence, connection, and confidence again.

How Sessions Work

DBR sessions are offered virtually and are deeply focused, slow, and precise.

Together, we track subtle internal responses and gently process the underlying imprint of the experience—without needing to relive or rehash the event.

This is not about pushing through.

It’s about allowing your system to complete what was interrupted.

  • Horse galloping, hooves kicking up dust in a ring.

What You Can Expect

  • A calmer, more regulated nervous system
  • Reduced fear and reactivity
  • Increased confidence and trust in your body
  • Greater connection with your horse
  • More consistent, grounded performance

Who This Is For

  • Riders recovering from a fall or accident
  • Riders feeling stuck despite training and effort
  • Riders experiencing anxiety, tension, or loss of confidence
  • Anyone ready to work at the level where real change happens

A Different Way Forward

You don’t need to push harder or “get over it.”

When the nervous system resolves the experience,

your body naturally returns to clarity, responsiveness, and connection.
