The One Who Tries and Fails

I’d rather be the one that tries and fails.
The one who fights for love even in the face of rejection.

I’d rather hit the ground, bruise my body, than hold back because it’s difficult and scary.
The one who says, I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere even as others turn to walk away.

I’d rather share what I feel and think, even though it may not be the popular opinion.
The one who expressed my deepest heart longing, without the promise of being met.

I may end up broken at times.
I may loose the love I fought so hard for.

But in the end, I’ll know that I didn’t stop when it felt hard.
I didn’t hold back in the midst of discomfort and pain.
In the end, I won’t wonder “what if I’d tried”
Because I did.

And the outcomes may not have been gentle on me, but every time I picked myself up, dusted myself off, stitched up my broken heart, turned towards the sun, and tried again.

Life does not come with a manual and holds no promises.
But I can promise you this-
When you keep trying, keep opening your heart and turn towards, eventually the most beautiful thing will stick, the most wonderful human will stay.
And you’ll realize that all those fails, were not actually fails, they are what carried you towards a life grander than any you could have imagined. And those scars did not damage your heart, those created the openings needed to experience the depth of love that you deserve.

I’d rather be the one who tries and fails.
Again. And Again. And again.

Beautifully said for all of us on our journey in life with horses, with people and all the other life on our planet. It takes such courage to knock down the walls of our self limiting fears and courage to reach out to others as we do so.
